DELHI GURGAON EXPRESSWAY: HIGHWAY TO DISASTER

Welcome to the 28 KM Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway on NH8 which 'claims' to be one of the biggest and well maintained expressway in India. As most of the highways in India, it is owned by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and is operated by the concessionaire Delhi Gurgaon Super Connectivity Limited (DSC), with the concession period being 20 years.

Please note that i have highlighted the word 'CLAIM' above because, in reality and the world outside the deadly combo of  DSC-NHAI Collaboration, these claims are never met. Have you heard the term "CHOR CHOR MAUSERE BHAI"... ??? This proverb is apt to the core for this deadly duo. You must be wondering why I am using the term deadly again and again... !!! that because this expressway has claimed more than 150 lives till now from the date it is opened for public. And you will be amazed to know that NHAI recently fined DSC for not sharing profit and it (NHAI) is deaf and dumb to the mismanagement and corruption which lead to the death of so many people.

DSC recently hiked toll tax by 2 Rs for small cars, that means now one has to pay Toll Tax of Rs 20 for one side entry at Delhi-Gurgaon border. DSC already generate a revenue of  7 million per day from this expressway. I know its require a lot of money to maintain a expressway like this but what a toll tax payer gets after paying this amount ?? First look at the pic below then i will proceed further:

Isn't is disgusting ? 500 Meter long lanes and a waiting time of around 15 minutes to pay toll tax and cross the toll plaza !!! And even after paying your hard earned money as toll tax what you get... a maximum speed of 25 KM on so called expressway during peek hours that too when you are lucky to find yourself moving.

DSC has promised a waiting time of  45 sec at toll plaza but all in books. DSC has promised a 20 minute drive from IFFCO chowk in Gurgaon to IGI Airport in Delhi but all in books. DSC has promised a safe and huddle free journey but all in books.

I am using this route since there was no expressway and i know that there is no difference in traveling time even after DSC and NHAI gifted us this 'Super Connectivity Expressway'. Only thing is that now we have to shell out our money to get stuck in traffic jam.

I really find it disgusting. First we have to pay tax when we buy a vehicle and then we pay income tax( most of the people who use this expressway during office hours are tax payer), still we have to pay toll tax to move on road developed by people's money.

Under the expert guidance of traffic management professionals of DSC and ownership of NHAI, the future of this expressway seems very dark but as lord Krishna said in Geeta "Karma kiye ja, phal ki chinta na kar".. i would like to modify "Toll tax diye ja, speed ki chinta na kar"

HSBC credit card - Fooling Customers in the name of Bonus Reward Points

Are you the one who used to enjoy free Pizzas by redeeming your HSBC Reward points? Are you the one who swapped his credit card crazily in last three month just to get bonus reward points and dreaming about what to redeem with those 'bonus' rewards points ??

Then sir your happiness is very short lived. Sorry to informed you that HSBC has revised its reward catalogue w.e.f  20 April. In other words, HSBC has fooled you in the name of 'EXTRA' Rewards points for privileged customers.

HSBC started a mass mailing campaign few month back, with offers like double and triple bonus points for Platinum and Titanium card holders if they do a shopping of say Rs 20000 or more in a particular periods. But that was nothing but a marketing gimmick.

Remember Chanakya quoted  in his 'Chanakya Niti' that VYAPARAM DROHA CHINTANAM means Business is all about Cheating. HSBC applied the same funda here. On one hand they offers bonus point luring customers and on other hands they just cleverly changed the Reward Catalogue. So your extra earned bonus points are of either less or same value as they are in old Reward Catalogue.

For example earlier by using reward points of value 325 and 650 you will get gift vouchers of Rs 250 and 500 respectively which can be used at different outlets but in new Catalogue you have to use reward point of value 1500 to get gift vouchers of Rs 500.

Isn't a case of simple cheating by HSBC ? They just fooled and lured customers so that they will use their card more in that period, going out of their expanding limits and the bank will get a chance to earn more in the name of late fees, fines, interest.

Whats more they never informed any customer either by email or on their site about the change in reward catalogue. So in the end 'Consumer is not always a god'.

Why We the People ?

We the People blog is a simple effort of raising people's voice against corruption and frauds happening at the grass root level in India. Everyday we face so many such cases all around us but either due to lack of knowledge or because of "why should i care about it" attitude we ignore these things.

WTP (We the People) does not aims at changing the country in one night nor it have any political motives. Its just an effort to let the people know how they are fooled in day to day life by either private companies or by the so called people's government.

Knowledge is the power and lets spread the knowledge(information) to fight the corruption.
